Dr. Pedro Cuartas was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University New Orleans in 1996 and graduated from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 2000. In addition to his general dental practice, Dr. Cuartas has developed specialized expertise in sleep apnea, sleep breathing disorders, TMJ therapy, orthodontics, and implant dentistry. Dedicated to providing the highest level of patient care, he has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education to further enhance his clinical knowledge and skills. Since 2001, he has been practicing comprehensive orthodontics for both adults and children as a general dentist.

Dr. Cuartas began his involvement in Dental Sleep Medicine in 2007 and currently serves as the Clinical Director of South LA Dental Sleep Medicine. He also founded Dental Sleep Mentorship, LLC (DSM), an organization dedicated to helping physicians and dentists integrate proactive screening and home sleep testing (HST) for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) into their practices. Through DSM, physicians are provided with customized OSA screening tools, patient education resources, and streamlined systems that make it easier to offer HST to eligible patients. The program supports healthcare providers with comprehensive screening, testing, treatment coordination, compliance monitoring, and long-term patient follow-up to improve treatment success. Dental Sleep Mentorship was also created to educate and mentor dentists seeking to successfully transition into the field of Dental Sleep Medicine.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Cuartas enjoys spending time with his family and pursuing his passion for aviation. He has been married for over 20 years and is the proud father of a 17-year-old son.
